Our Story

Established in 2011, Sundown at Granada is a neighborhood farm-to-table restaurant located next door to the historic Granada Theater, boasting an expansive patio overlooking Greenville Avenue and Sundown's own organic garden. Sundown offers fresh, seasonal dishes highlighting locally-sourced produce and free-range meats. Catering to all different appetites, Sundown has a wide variety of Vegetarian, Vegan, and gluten-free fare. Paired with one of our 60 craft beers or a refreshing craft cocktail and our scenic rooftop patio, there are tastes for every palate! In addition to delicious food and craft cocktails and beer, Sundown also doubles as a music venue and event space, hosting live music six nights a week. Sundown is locally owned and operated by Mike Schoder and Julia Garton.

Executive Chef
Jason West

Watching his family cook, especially his grandmother, is what sparked Chef Jason West's interest in cooking. He loved the joy that people get out of not just eating a great meal, but the memories that a meal creates. In recent years Executive Chef Jason West has earned the “Rising Star Chef” nod from CultureMap and participated in the publications Tastemaker Awards. A native Louisianan, cooking is in his blood. The way he approaches each dish is unique, “I think of a dish as a piece of art or music…each dish should have many different notes or layers in each bite. We tend to just consume food nowadays instead of taking the time to actually enjoy the dish and think about where the food came from and what it took to make it. Food can be more than substance – it can take you places and tell stories." He has a passion for different flavors from all over the world everywhere from Europe, Asia, Africa, South America and the Caribbean to here in America. This passion is what Chef Jason West wants to bring to each plate every time he cooks.
